L\u2019ottimizzazione della resilienza individuale ha ricevuto crescente attenzione da parte della comunit\u00e0 scientifica ed \u00e8 diventata ancora pi\u00f9 importante dopo il Covid-19. Da questo punto in poi gran parte dei paesi di tutto il mondo stanno cercando di costruire la resilienza individuale, comunitaria e di sistema. Il cosiddetto \u201c<em>Healthy Aging<\/em>\u201d (invecchiamento di successo) \u00e8 un concetto introdotto per la prima volta da Rowe e Kahn, che hanno enfatizzato come elementi chiave del processo: la prevenzione delle malattie, l&#8217;elevato funzionamento fisico e mentale e l&#8217;impegno nella vita attiva. In seguito sono stati introdotti anche altri fattori quali socialit\u00e0, fattori psicologici e resilienza.<\/p>\n<p>A livello mondiale vi \u00e8 un aumento importante della popolazione anziana (classificata dall\u2019OMS come <em>over<\/em> 65) e in Europa (fonte Eurostat) la percentuale di <em>over<\/em> 65 sul totale della popolazione sar\u00e0 del 29,1% nel 2060. In Italia la percentuale sale al 34,3%, con un 16,1% di <em>over<\/em> 80. L&#8217;et\u00e0 costituisce un fattore di rischio per malattie croniche, cancro, fragilit\u00e0, demenza e si associa a un calo significativo della resilienza. Diviene, quindi, importante adottare strategia per aumentare la durata della vita in salute. La maggior parte della letteratura scientifica dell&#8217;ultimo decennio ha riguardato la prevenzione delle malattie croniche, della fragilit\u00e0 e della demenza.<\/p>\n<p>Il termine &#8220;resilienza&#8221; \u00e8 definito come \u201cla capacit\u00e0 di riprendersi dopo un evento traumatico o un&#8217;avversit\u00e0\u201d. In linea generale, le persone mostrano delle risposte variabili agli <em>stressor<\/em> nonostante vi siano uno stato clinico o un&#8217;et\u00e0 cronologica simili. Questo divario soggettivo nelle risposte individuali pu\u00f2 essere dovuto a differenze a livello molecolare, cellulare e sistemico. Gli studi hanno dimostrato che gli adattamenti alle avversit\u00e0 sono influenzati anche da genere, etnia, differenze generazionali, variazioni culturali, tipo e intensit\u00e0 dello <em>stressor<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Il declino fisiologico della resilienza con il processo d\u2019invecchiamento pu\u00f2 essere spiegato da una riduzione dell&#8217;omeostasi complessiva dell\u2019organismo e dall&#8217;aumentata risposta allo stress. Inoltre, un singolo fattore di stress pu\u00f2 avere molteplici effetti negativi, oppure ci possono essere pi\u00f9 fattori di stress concomitanti.<\/p>\n<p>La resilienza pu\u00f2 essere definita come un costrutto dinamico con molteplici fattori di rischio e protettivi. I fattori protettivi includono avere uno scopo nella vita, una migliore salute percepita, ottimismo, controllo, connettivit\u00e0 sociale, spiritualit\u00e0, funzionamento indipendente, pratica di esercizio fisico, tipo di ambiente. I fattori di rischio includono difficolt\u00e0 a gestire lo stress, depressione, limitazioni della mobilit\u00e0, malattie fisiche come diabete e disturbi della personalit\u00e0.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;aumento della resilienza \u00e8 stato associato a una salute mentale positiva, una migliore qualit\u00e0 della vita, una maggiore attivit\u00e0 fisica, una migliore soglia del dolore, migliori risultati fisici e riabilitativi.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Bibliografia <\/em><\/strong><em>Yip W et al. 2021.
